APW - Waltham, Amn Watch Co grade model 1872, 17S (model specific dimensions), 14K rose gold original Waltham HC with ET gold cuvette in addition to glazed observation cover over mvt, SW-LS, WE-SSD with three-line American Watch Co signature, lever escapement, 16J, ribbed pattern NI damascene, s#987154. Gross weight of assembled watch 81.6 dwt (126.9 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: GRO, fine mvt condition overall, plate discoloration with many MFS, as if the rhodium plating were removed from the nickel upper plate, while settings are near mint, and the winding wheels with only one small patch; dial with hl and spider fracture at 11:30; hands near mint, rubbing to minute tip; case shows very light wear, few MFS, a soft dent in front, a sharp creased dent in back with two other sharp dings, ET detail fading at shoulders; bow tight, crown shows light wear and incipient break; good glass crystals.
